Am I scared of Coronavirus? You betcha I am, but in fairness I’m scared of all viruses and bugs.
I live in a perpetual state of fear.
I’m Suzanne and I have germ phobia.
Since having cancer I have been very prone to catching everything and anything going round, which has raised my fear factor.
There are only a few things we can do to try avoid getting it (bit tricky) and preventing it spreading;
Eat a good balanced diet with plenty of fruit and veg, take extra vitamin C, wash your hands, don’t touch your face (I’m terrible at this, my face itches a lot), and anti bac the **** out of everything (shopping trolleys, steering wheel, keys, phone, door handles, car door handles, remote controls, light switches…EVERYTHING).
And that’s it, the rest of the time, calm down, sit back and relax.
Have I stocked up like the end of the world is nigh?
No, not especially, I do my shop big shop in Costco, monthly, so maybe I’ve actually been stock piling for the last 25 years, maybe I’ve been in training for this very moment all these years.
I have bought a few extra cans of soup, beans and put a loaf of bread & some crumpets in the freezer, but that’s about it.
I clearly didn’t get the memo about pasta…pasta???
Decembers 2017 and 2018 I had horrific virus’s.
Once I was over the worst (by the way when you’re very poorly you don’t eat much, if any thing at all) I only ever fancy crispy food, my go to is a take away extra crispy pizza from Pizza Express, God they have got me through some tough times, they really have.
Thank you Pizza Express. x
I was not up to knocking up a Spag Bol or any other food for that matter. And I certainly didn’t fancy eating slimey sensations either, remember when you have a virus your nose is blocked and taste is but a fond memory.
But if we are to go on lock down, even though we are well, and we may well need to to protect the vulnerable.
Choose exciting, delicious things to eat.
Stock up on those posh crisps(the ones you only serve at parties), cakes, biscuits (cookies) and jam for toast in bed, while you read a good book and chocolate if you eat the stuff.
Don’t make it a miserable experience by eating pasta every night.
Buy some rice for a curry, and potatoes for bangers and mash.
I wish you all the best as we head into the unknown. x
If you’re really worried about germs that can kill, have a flu jab, I’ve had one every year for the last 20 odd because I had flu once, REAL flu, that bad boy was horrendous, no wonder people die of it.
Don’t just wait till a really bad bug comes out to worry about germs, be like me and worry about all of them! Hahahahaha
Joking aside, if you get a flu jab you don’t just attempt to protect yourself (it’s not guaranteed) but you protect others by not passing flu round.
Protect the herd, consider it a good deed every year.
….and yes, I will be first in line for a coronavirus vaccine because I don’t like any bugs, if there’s a vaccine for stuff, I’ll have it! Christ I’ve even had the Rabies jab (and that’s one of the biggest cons going, I believe it just buys you a bit of time rather than prevent the illness).
I have stocked up on bagels, salt beef, croissants, and trifle ingredients…but that’s because I’ve got a small gathering planned at the weekend for Milly and Sam’s engagement.
There is a strictly no touching/hugging policy in place, and anti bac by the door on arrival. Fun with no contact please. Hahahahaha
Wishing you a happy healthy weekend.
