This is just a quick message.
I heard today on social media that Beth, Bowel Warrior, has been moved to a hospice. I am devastated by this news.
Unlike a lot of people I’ve met through my blog, social media and raising awareness of young age bowel cancer, Beth wasn’t just someone I saw photos of online.
We realised we didn’t live terribly far from each other and decided to meet up for a cuppa.
Beth is an amazing person. She has done so much to open people’s eyes to the possibility that young people get cancer too.
Selflessly, tirelessly, with no personal gain, other than the knowledge, satisfaction and joy that she would have saved lives.
I know that her awareness campaign a couple of years ago would have definitely saved many people’s lives. It would have jolted people into acting on their symptoms.
I was so honoured to be part of that. Beth created a collage of other people who had been diagnosed at a young age.
I’m in no doubt her initiative saved people.
Beth was recently fund raising to be able to be given a treatment that could give her a bit more time.
Gladly I gave to this, because if anyone deserves more time it’s Beth.
I’m devastated for Beth and her family that it looks like this didn’t happen.
I’m thinking of you. I’m sending my love. xx
